“The Story of Htet Wai Yan” by Ye Myint Kyaw, Open Mind Library

Htet Wai Yan, the fat little guy who is a recent high school graduate, has volunteered himself at Open Mind Library this summer. He has been working non-stop since. He comes to library every morning to open it. When we got computers, he took a training course here. He used to ask too many questions while learning. Our course wouldn’t satisfy him so he took a few extra outside. But now, he’s teaching free computer courses here every day to 40+ trainees. He has found his place in just a short time. He has decided to pursue the path of technology.

Very Thankful to MBAPF with Joy, Arr Man Thit Library

In partnership with Ooredoo, Myanmar Book Aids and Preservation Foundation aka MBAPF has donated 6 Easy Book Laptops and 40 GB internet per month to our library. We are very grateful that and delighted that we would now be able to invite experts to conduct free computer and internet courses for students and parents from the community. We wish that MBAPF grows more to support libraries and contribute more to educational works.

MBAPF Has Upgraded Ain Mat Thit’s Success

The reason why Ain Mat Thit was founded is to give easy access to literature for book lovers from around Thain Za Yat to plant reading habits in kids of the future.

Our ambition has succeeded as there are around 150 visitors to our library every day to read, to loan books, to use tablets, or to just enjoy the playground for kids. We never hoped for a better success. But after meeting with Dr. Thant Thaw Kaung, Teacher Daw Myat Sann Nyein, Teacher Daw Ah Win from MBAPF, and U Maung Maung Soe from Save the Library Network and attending several trainings and workshops they arranged, the Management Team of Ain Mat Thit couldn’t be satisfied with our current results anymore and started to have higher ambitions.

The teachers lead libraries which are already successful to even more success. They also support new libraries or those which doesn’t have visitors to be sustainable by  – donating books, arranging training courses, donating tablets, and empowering teenage girls’ lives from the community by providing them technical and leadership courses.

After we had our connection with MBAPF, we were able to build a computer lab in order to be able to provide computer courses for our visitors. This computer lab is also meant for training courses arranged by MBAPF.

Ain Ma Thit’s success has be upgraded because of MBAPF. We are hoping and also trying to raise experts in technical, literature, and leadership.
